We look forward to hearing from you!!
Received my copy of What They Hear In The Dark at the weekend and read it in one sitting. Another brilliant story from Gary McMahon – The Harm and How To Make Monsters were the best things I read last year.
Very impressed at the quality of the chapbook and am looking forward to the next books in my subscription.
many thanks for posting your thoughts, Anthony…. very much appreciated…
Next one, Gary Fry’s “The Abolisher of Roses”, is due in May…
I would like to buy a copy of Gary McMahon’s book and review it on the above web site. I can’t work out how to do this. Sorry for my incompetence and bumblingness,
Regards
Terry Grimwood
Hi Terry, nice to hear from you!
Email me at spectralpress@gmail.com and I’ll send you all the details… =)
Look forward to hearing from you!
Simon
Just received my copy of the first chapbook and I’m blown away, both by the quality of the product and Gary’s story. If you’re interested I’ve bloged about it; I haven’t got many readers at the moment, but I really hope those I do have take ot subscriptions. If this first one is anything to go by then you deserve for this venture to be a huge success.
Thanks again, and I can’t wait for the second book.
Hi Chris!
Many thanks for taking the time to write and many thanks for the compliments… =)
I hope you enjoy the rest of the issues… =)
Simon
A deeply disturbing tale – I couldn’t stop reading it, and again.
Very much enjoyed Cate Gardner’s Nowhere Hall, and also found the Small Press panel at the recent FantasyCon very interesting. Do you think you’ll move on to single author collections as a Spectral Press publication in the future? The chapbooks have been very finally produced.
Regarding the chapbooks, I’m looking forward to Alison Littlewood’s coming title…
Hello Ray!
I’m glad you enjoyed both Nowhere Hall and the Small Press panel at FCon – as far as single author story collections go, in 2013 Spectral will be launching the Spectral Signature Editions, which will finely produced hardback volumes in limited numbers, signed and illustrated. There will possibly be a paperback version as well, but definitely an e-book version with an extra ot different story or two included to make it worthwhile! The first author will World fantasy Award-nominated writer Simon Kurt Unsworth!
Let me know if you need more information – there will be TWO different versions of the hardbacks offered.
SMJ
When I said finally, I meant finely. (That’s embarassing.)
Good news indeed, I’ve loved Unsworth’s work in Black Static so I’ll put that date in my diary.

Hi! I have a year’s subscription, which I began in july 13, can you tell me which publication I’ll receive next?
Hello there!
Due to various personal issues plus a house move the last two were delayed until this year – the first one of which is due in March.
Many apologies for the delay!
Simon
Hi! I took out a year’s sub in july- can you tell me what that entitles me to? Many thanks.
It entitles you to four issues of the chapbooks which means you will receive all four of this year’s chapbook publications…
Thank you for your interest!
Simon
Can we get a reprint of Mark Samuel’s Glyphotech?
Funny you should mention that, Scott… as we’re doing exactly that in 2016…. =)
They are not unsolicited if you ask for them – are they
You’re quite right – however, people still send manuscripts unasked for. And sometimes, I hear of a promising writer looking for a home for a particular piece of work and so I invite them to send it to me..
The last open submissions period resulted in 811 stories being sent in…
